Communication
I truly believe that communication is the key to a successful academic school year. Please encourage your student to chat with me any time there is a need for help. Remember, I have about 100 students that I am responsible for, so it is often too late before I recognize that your student struggling. Encourage your student to let me know if there is something they are having difficulty with. We all learn at different paces, so it is okay to ask for help. There is nothing that impresses me more than a student who is passionate about their academic understanding.

Commentary
Success in my class is directly related to consistent effort in homework completion, class participation, a positive attitude and coming in for help when necessary. If your student is feeling that they are falling behind, it is essential that they take the initiative to ask for help immediately. That’s my job! It is a lot easier to catch the problem and address it early rather that waiting until the day before a test or quiz.
